This boat is 12'6"x55"x85#. The reason it is so heavy is that it was built extra heavy duty to the owner's specifications and has a ballasted pivoting centerboard unlike most of our little sailboats. I like a daggerboard not just for lightness but because I think they are more efficient and they don't change the center of lateral resistance at different positions.

This little boat has made more sea miles than any boat that size I ever heard of. It is set up to row four oars and will also ease along with a little Honda 2hp. As soon as she got her hat situated so it wouldn't blow off, she tightened up on the snotter and pulled that wrinkle out of the sail. That's another Dabbler sail and is 90 sq.ft. when it isn't reefed.
