Alright now... enough rowboats. This is a very old conventionally built poplar outboard boat. It is 16 feet long which is the ideal length for low horsepower planing boats. This boat will easily plane two adults with that weedless three. Despite the aesthetics of the thing, little planing skiffs are the most useful boats. The owner of this old boat uses it almost every day and has successfully managed to maintain that all over varnish job (Pettit Bak V) himself. He maintains (and I agree) that a fishing boat needs to look like a piece of wood. This is one of only two local boats. This man is the county prosecutor. I cut him a deal in case I ever need him to cut me a deal.
